Calling all local retailers, managers, and business leaders
Retail crime is a growing issue, and your input is needed to help shape the government’s response here in Marlborough.

The Ministerial Advisory Group for Victims of Retail Crime is travelling the country to hear directly from business communities, including here in Marlborough. 

With retail crime costing New Zealand billions every year, this is a timely opportunity to share what’s happening on the ground and influence the solutions being developed.

At this session:

  • There will be a short presentation by representatives for the Ministerial Advisory Group, about the work being done nationally
  • An opportunity to take part in an open Q&A to raise your experiences and ideas
  • You will also come away with an understanding of the tools and key initiatives that are being put in place to help mitigate against retail crime occurrence.

Your voice matters. By attending, you’ll not only gain insights into the work underway but also help ensure the Marlborough perspective is heard at a national level.

About Ministerial Advisory Group for Victims of Retail Crime | The Ministerial Advisory Group for Victims of Retail Crime was established by the Minister of Justice, Hon Paul Goldsmith, and the Associate Minister of Justice, Hon Nicole McKee, on 11 July 2024. Besides the Chair, the advisory group comprises four members with extensive expertise across the retail sector. The Advisory Group was established to provide the Ministers with high quality, independent advice, develop practical, evidence-based proposals, policies, and legislative recommendations to tackle urgent issues related to retail crime. The Group’s mandate is to table proposed legislation for the Government to consider as part of its plan to restore law and order including options on how security guards and business owners can better protect themselves.
