Lunch with Dr Ganesh Nana
Wednesday, 7 September 2022 (12:00 PM - 1:30 PM) (NZST)
Workers in New Zealand work longer hours and for less reward than workers in most other OECD countries. In short, New Zealand works harder rather than smarter. We are one of a small number of OECD countries with both a low level of labour productivity and low productivity growth.
For the last 25 years or more New Zealand’s income per person has stayed at about 70% of that in countries in the top half of the OECD.
So why is New Zealand's productivity performance so low and what can we do here in Marlborough to change that?
Join us for an inspiring and informative lunch where Dr Ganesh Nana, Chair of the Productivity Commission Te Kōmihana Whai Hua o Aotearoa, will discuss how we can ‘work smarter’ rather than ‘work harder’, how we can improve turning our inputs – resources – into outputs. And the financial and wellbeing gains for improved productivity.
