This one-day course provides health and safety representatives, committee members and others with an interest or responsibility for workplace health and safety with the essential skill, knowledge and competency to fulfil their roles under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. 

The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 shifts the focus from monitoring and recording health and safety incidents to proactively identifying and managing risks so everyone is safe and healthy. Everyone in the workplace has a role to play and this course will provide you with the skills, knowledge and competencies required; Legislation Roles and Responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and Health and Safety Regulations Health and Safety system Worker Engagement and Participation Hazard/Risk Management Notifiable Events 

This training does not include the completion of US29315 but meets the requirements for the training of Health and Safety Representatives as required by the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.

Helen Mason has extensive health and safety experience, including over 20 years as a health and safety consultant, as well as significant in-house training experience within both the public and private sectors. Helen has an Adult Teaching Certificate – Level 5 and is skilled at being able to provide support to organisations at any stage of their health and safety journey – from systems audits, legislation updates and documentation right through to customised in-house training, and on-call support. With a focus on long-term partnerships, Helen regularly works with a wide range of clients from across a variety of sectors throughout New Zealand, including SMEs, large multinational corporates and not-for-profits, to help organisations more effectively manage health and safety in the workplace.
