Description

You do not want to miss this exclusive opportunity to see behind the gates at Port Marlborough!

THIS EVENT HAS NOW SOLD OUT - Please email kylie@mcoc.org.nz to be added to the waitlist.

Port Marlborough is one of New Zealand’s busiest ports, with more than 3,000 large vessel visits each year. With a vision to be an environmentally restorative port, driving success for Marlborough, it plays an important role in keeping our region connected and moving. From enabling Cook Strait ferry services and supporting national freight flows, to facilitating aquaculture, forestry exports and a cruise industry that delivers around $36.4 million annually to Marlborough, the port sits at the centre of it all. It is also home to one of New Zealand’s largest marina networks – Marlborough Sounds Marinas, supporting lifeline access for Sounds Residents, aquaculture, marine tourism and recreational boating across the Sounds.

Join us for a Business After 5 event at Port Marlborough and experience this first-hand.

Hear from Chief Executive Rhys Welbourn and meet the port’s leadership team, then step aboard for a guided bus tour through the port. You’ll see live operations across the waterfront, meet the team behind them, and gain insight into the Waitohi Ferry Redevelopment Project, a nationally significant investment now progressing on the ground, bringing to life how Port Marlborough operates as a vital facilitator of Marlborough’s key industries. Whether you’re connected through business or simply interested in how the port contributes to the region, this is a unique opportunity to experience it up close.

What to expect:

  • A short introduction to Port Marlborough and their role in the region
  • Guided bus tour of the port and overview of operational and project areas
  • Insight into the work underway on the Waitohi Ferry Redevelopment Project
